We found that people wanted real neighborhoods with narrow tree-lined streets, parks and common green areas within walking distance, and natural ways to meet their neighbors and make new friends. Architectural variety was important in making communities more interesting and home selection more personal. Homes needed to be comfortable inside and out with front porches maintaining the feeling of sanctuary yet welcoming interaction with fellow residents.
