No matter where you are in Oakland Park, you will not be far from a park. Grassy areas and open space weave through the community like a street network. Construction on Meadowmarsh Park and Pool is set to begin this spring with a scheduled opening in the Summer/Fall of 2012.  Located adjacent to beautiful Lake Brim, this new park will consist of a swimming pool for Oakland Park residents along with open play fields, pathways, and playground. In addition to more than a dozen small- to medium-sized parks that provide civic space for neighborhood areas, two major linear parks connect from Lake Apopka to the West Orange Trail and Lake Brim. These open areas - comprising more than 74 acres of parks, hammocks, and preserved wetlands - are connected by a series of walkways and trails. These naturally occurring neighborhood landmarks create focal points for neighbors to meet and enjoy the outdoors.
